Belkasoft BookaMark helps you to organize and access Internet
bookmarks easily. In today's world the amount of Internet places you are visiting regularly is so
huge that it is impossible to remember all of them. Unfortunately Favorites feature is not much convenient
since from some level Favorites menu becomes just a giant garbage

Managing bookmarks |
|
|
The main purpose of Belkasoft BookaMark is to help you organize
bookmarks and increase your performance working with them. With
Belkasoft BookaMark you can split your bookmarks into different categories,
acquire bookmarks from different sources, search a bookmark in your bookmarks
collection by its properties, track all bookmarks copied into clipboard
and more.
Belkasoft BookaMark is remarkably easy in use. It has a clear,
Explorer-style interface familiar to millions of Windows users. The main
window is divided into two areas. The tree-like folder structure on the
left allows you to open any folder whose records are immediately listed
on the right. Clicking on any record, you can view bookmark properties
in the area below. To open a bookmark, you need to double-click the
appropriate record. With the same point-and-click simplicity, you can
add or remove folders and open any bookmark record to edit its properties.

Importing and exporting bookmarks to your browser |
|
|
Different browsers use different names for bookmarked URLs. Microsoft
Internet Explorer calls them 'Favorites', Opera and Mozilla use 'Bookmarks'
word. In general, this is the same notion and Belkasoft BookaMark supports
them the same way.
With Belkasoft BookaMark you can acquire bookmarks from the most popular
browsers such as:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer
- Opera
- Mozilla
- Mozilla FireFox (starting version 0.9)
This is an easy way to start using Belkasoft BookaMark with your existing
data.
You can also easily export your bookmarks to these browsers with just one
click. So it is very easy to transfer your data from one browser to another
using Belkasoft BookaMark's import and export facilities.

Synchronizing bookmarks |
|
|
| Having imported bookmarks from any source once, you can later repeat
this operation. The import dialog will show you what bookmarks could be
imported but only those will be selected by default that are not in your
bookmarks collection. So only new bookmarks will be uploaded into
Belkasoft BookaMark if you will not check/uncheck the results. |

Clipboard logging feature |
|
|
If you are working with large volume of bookmarks you
probably often copy/paste them. In this case you do not care about
entering those bookmarks into Belkasoft BookaMark - Belkasoft BookaMark
will do it for you automatically.
You can use clipboard logging feature. You can enable this feature in
Belkasoft BookaMark properties as well as select folder that will keep all
bookmarks that get into your clipboard.
How does it work? Imagine today is Jan 1, 2005. Say it, the clipboard log folder is called
My clipboard log. You start your day by selecting a bookmark sent you by your friend by mail. Immediately after you have copied this bookmark
(using Ctrl-C, Ctrl-Insert or Copy menu item of your mail program), the subfolder
1/1/2005 is created in folder My clipboard log and a bookmark copied is added to this subfolder. All the rest bookmarks this day will be kept in the same folder named
1/1/2005.
The bookmarks for the next day will correspondingly be kept in the folder with name
1/2/2005 (Note that the folder name depends on a date format specified in the regional settings and can vary for different
countries).
Clipboard logging is also nice feature to extract all bookmarks from text documents.
How to understand that there are new bookmarks in your clipboard? You can
notice that Belkasoft BookaMark tray icon changed
that means that you have just copied some bookmarks. Those bookmarks will
appear in Belkasoft BookaMark system tray menu and you can open any of them
by selecting it there. |

Searching bookmarks |
|
|
You can find bookmark by any part of its name, URL and description. For example, you can find a bookmark to
http://belkasoft.com by the string
belka.
You can also find a bookmark by the date created. Specify From and/or To
dates. In case you specify only one of those fields, the other bound will be supposed to be
'and earlier' or 'and later' correspondingly. E.g. you specify From to be
10/10/2004 and left To field blank. All bookmarks created at 10/10/2004 and later will be found.
You can find all bookmarks that have shortcuts.
Finally, you can also find all duplicated bookmarks, i.e. all bookmarks
with the same URL that exist in more than one Belkasoft BookaMark folder. |

| Exporting bookmarks to a file and importing bookmarks from a file |
|
|
| You can export any Belkasoft BookaMark folder to a file
and import Belkasoft BookaMark file that was previously exported. This
feature could be extremely useful for exchanging bookmarks with your
colleagues and friends. |

Importing bookmarks from your messegner |
|
|
You often send and receive bookmarks via your messaging software like
Mirabilis ICQ or Miranda IM. Have you ever think how to extract
all these bookmarks from messenger history? It is not trivial and
requires a huge amount of manual work. Now you can do it with just
few clicks using ICQ/Miranda import wizard.

Binding a shortcut to a bookmark |
|
|
| To increase access to frequently used bookmark
you can specify a shortcut for this bookmark. Shortcut is a key
combination to quick open bookmark in browser.
It allows you to open a bookmark without selecting it in Belkasoft BookaMark.
You can work in other program, Belkasoft BookaMark could be minimized in system tray,
etc. but this key combination will immediately open your bookmark in browser. For example, you are frequently using
Google search. You can create a bookmark for
Google and set shortcut Shift-Ctrl-G
(or any other you like) for this bookmark. Then you can press Shift-Ctrl-G anytime and that will open
Google for you. Quite convenient, isn't it? |
