Hardware ID

There are two kinds of protection: using Hardware ID and USB keys (dongles). If you are purchasing a version without USB keys, each license of the software is bound to a single computer. For each license registered one needs correspondent hardware ID as registration key will be unique for every licensed computer. To figure out what is your hardware id, please install the software and copy hardware id using Copy button at the Register product window like shown below:

This information will be requested while purchasing process.

When to choose version with USB keys?

If you need more flexibility (e.g. you are going to use the software on different computers, you can choose version with USB keys. For example, if you have 6 investigators and each investigator has 2 workstations and a laptop, instead of purchasing 18 regular licenses you can purchase 6 licenses with the dongle support and save money. Please note though that unlike regular version which is available to you almost immediately after the purchase, it make take one to two months before you receive your USB key.

Licensing rules

Companies and organizations should not purchase Home license. Individuals, working on their behalf, can purchase Home license.

• Standard, Professional and Ultimate license applies to a single workstation no matter how much specialists work on it. You should purchase a license per every workstation you would like to install software to or choose USB-key protected version.

• Home license can be used by a person purchased the licence only. If you have multiple users on a computer with the software installed, only a person who bought the software is entitled to use it.

Support

One year of support is included into the license cost. It is possible to purchase lifetime license - in this case the support is unlimited. After a year since the purchase it is required to purchase one more year support to get further updates. However you can continue using the older version of the product.

You can additionally purchase Premium Support Subscription. Annual plan of Premium support includes:

• Guaranteed 24 hour response time to emails

• Support by Skype and IM of your choise

Upgrading or updating your license

Registered users are entitled to receive all bugfixes, patches and new releases during the year since the product registration. After a year license should be updated. Alternatively life-time license may be purchased.

Training

Please consider training to use the product efficiently from the day one.

Before you buy: what the product can NOT do for you?

Some messengers do not store message history by default, for example, AIM or old MSN. This means that if a user did not explicitly changed his/her setting, no history will be stored.

There is no way to retrieve the history in this case and our tool is not able to do it as well. It is also possible to switch history saving off. In this case our product will not help.

A note regarding ICQ 2003b. Our users frequently complain that they cannot extract outgoing messages, only incoming are extracted. This means that the history saving is switched off. By mistake ICQ still stores messages but only incoming. It is not the product bug.

Regarding AIM messenger - the message saving is only included into the latest version of this messenger. By default it does not save anything. Belkasoft Forensic IM Analyzer tool allows for searching AIM history.

For QQ 2009/2010 messenger - the product cannot retrive history in case of following:

• There is no internet connection on your computer

• A user did not check "Remember my password"

• You do not have user's SOFTWARE registry file

• You do not have original user's drive
