If Belkasoft X is blocked by an antivirus

The product is most likely being blocked by your antivirus if:

  • When you launch Belkasoft X, the product window is not displayed even though the associated process is visible in the Task Manager
  • Belkasoft X crashes immediately after the launch
  • The product displays the error that it is being blocked by an antivirus when launched
  • All tasks fail during data source analysis

Note: In certain configurations, only part of Belkasoft X’s analysis tasks may get blocked. We recommend that you check and adjust your Windows Defender and antivirus product settings, even if only a few tasks finish with the “failed” or “completed with errors” status.

Windows Defender

If you have Windows Defender, it may prevent the product from successful start even if it is not actively running (for example, when another antivirus is installed). In this case, Belkasoft X may silently close without any meaningful log information from your main antivirus. If Windows Defender or another antivirus program is blocking the product, please add the following items to the exclusions list:

  • The Belkasoft X product folder.
  • The App subfolder within the product folder.
  • All executable files inside the App subfolder.

If Windows Defender or the antivirus program has moved or deleted files from the product folder, please reinstall Belkasoft X in a previously whitelisted folder.

In some cases, files from the installation package can be removed by Defender or antivirus during the archive unpacking stage. To prevent this, whitelist the Belkasoft X installation package before unpacking. Then, unpack it and reinstall Belkasoft X to a whitelisted folder.

Avast or similar antivirus

In the screenshots below, you can see how to tune your antivirus to allow Belkasoft X to start and work smoothly. This example shows settings for Avast antivirus:

Step 1: Open the menu.

Step2: Select the Settings option.

Step 3: Go to General → Exceptions and add an exception for the Belkasoft X product folder.

Sophos

For the Sophos antivirus, turn off "Dynamic shellcode protection" (requires administrator rights).

Comodo EDR

If you have Comodo Endpoint Detection and Response (Comodo EDR) installed, you may need to uninstall or disable its Endpoint Manager.

If Belkasoft is blocked by Windows 10
